Our Mission
Make App Store Optimization accessible to every iOS developer — not just those with enterprise budgets or dedicated ASO teams.
The Apple App Store is the most important distribution channel for iOS apps, but for most developers it operates as a black box. You submit your app, set your keywords, and wait. Whether you rank or not — and why — is rarely obvious.
Kōmori changes that. It makes the ranking signals, keyword opportunities, and competitor strategies visible — so developers can make deliberate decisions about how their apps get found.
The Problem We Solve
Before Kōmori, iOS developers had two options for professional ASO tooling:
Enterprise platforms — out of reach
Tools like Sensor Tower start at $2,500/month on an annual contract and require a sales process before you can access anything. They are built for investment analysts and publisher teams — not individual developers. The data depth is real, but the price and complexity make them inaccessible to 99% of App Store developers.
Cross-platform tools — wrong trade-offs
Mid-market tools like AppTweak cover both iOS and Android, which means their iOS feature depth shares a roadmap with Android. They also cap keyword tracking by plan tier — your costs grow exactly as your app starts succeeding. For iOS-only developers, you pay for platform coverage you don't use and get penalized for growing.
Free tools — not enough
Free browser extensions and basic rank checkers give you a surface-level view but no keyword discovery, no competitor gap analysis, and no systematic way to improve. Most are maintained inconsistently and lack the data depth needed for real ASO work.
The result: most indie iOS developers do keyword research by instinct, miss obvious ranking opportunities, and have no systematic way to know whether their metadata changes worked.
See the difference
AI-powered keyword research, unlimited rank tracking, and competitor analysis — all in one native Mac app.
The ASO Toolkit We Built
Kōmori is a native macOS ASO toolkit with a single focus: helping iOS developers rank higher on the App Store through better keyword decisions.
It covers the full ASO workflow — keyword discovery, rank tracking, competitor analysis, and review monitoring — in a Mac app built for the way developers actually work. Fast, offline-capable, and without the browser tab overhead of a SaaS dashboard.
What it includes
- AI keyword research — 45M+ keyword database with popularity scores, difficulty ratings, and top-ranking competitor breakdowns across 25+ storefronts.
- Unlimited rank tracking — Daily rank updates for every keyword you care about — no caps, no upgrade prompts, no hidden limits.
- Competitor analysis — Side-by-side keyword overlap, metadata comparison, and update frequency tracking for any competitor on the App Store.
- Review analytics — Review monitoring across 90+ countries with AI-powered sentiment scoring. Catch regional issues before they compound into rating damage.
- App Store charts — Category and storefront chart tracking across 25+ App Store markets.
Our Convictions
A few principles that shape every product decision we make:
Pricing should not punish growth
Every tool that caps keyword tracking creates a perverse dynamic: as your app grows and your keyword set expands, your costs escalate. The tool gets more expensive exactly when you're succeeding. Kōmori charges a flat rate. Growth doesn't cost extra.
Depth beats breadth
Cross-platform tools split their engineering between two app stores. Kōmori focuses entirely on iOS. That focus produces a different product — one where every feature, every data model, and every design decision is built around the App Store's specific ranking mechanics.
Native apps are better tools
Every competing ASO tool is a web-based SaaS dashboard. Kōmori is a native macOS app — faster, more responsive, offline-capable, and built to integrate with the way developers actually work on a Mac. That choice is not about aesthetics; it's about building the best possible tool for the platform where iOS developers spend their time.
ASO is a daily practice, not a quarterly report
Enterprise tools are built for periodic reporting — they produce charts and exports for stakeholder meetings. Effective ASO is iterative: test a keyword change, watch the rank signal, adjust. Kōmori is designed for the developer who checks rankings before pushing a metadata update and wants to see the result the next day.

Why Kōmori
Kōmori (コウモリ) means “bat” in Japanese. Bats navigate entirely through echolocation — they emit signals, read the returning data, and build an accurate map of an environment they cannot see directly.
That's precisely what ASO requires. The App Store algorithm is invisible. You cannot observe it directly. But by reading keyword signals, rank changes, and competitor patterns, you can build an accurate picture of how it works — and use that picture to navigate toward better visibility.
The name captures the tool's purpose: not brute force, but precise signal reading in a space you cannot see.
